Tom,

As of version 2.6, Slide Executive Desktop does infact index the notes part of the slide. It is also searchable from the search pane.

PowerPoint does have a unique value per slide but unfortunately the value is only unique within the same presentation. Let me get back to you regarding this duplicate slide issue as we have some other requests related to it that we need to figure out.

SE desktop has a build-in feature "Send feedabck" to contact you with suggestions and the like.
I think this is great.

However, every suggestions passed on that way "disappears" immeditaly: there's no trace for the sender, nor for the user community.

May I suggest all feedback to be (semi-) automatically published on this forum?

Thx!

Does SE (desktop ediiton) only indexes the outline text, or is the textin the related note pages also indexed?

Two reasons for the question:
1) we use notes pages extensively
2) we are considering adding a unique id for each slide in the note page, to find duplicates back.
You might argue that SE does so, but whenever we translate from Eng to Duthc or French, or just sligtly change the outline, SE cannot recognize these slides are related.

What we would need to keep track thereof is something along these lines:

- retrieves from some location (txt, ini, whatever) the last IDn° used
- for each subfolders of a given folder (no GUI needed, I can start it up in command line style or within a ppt from that folder) and
o for each ppt / pptx (I have both formats) in that folder
 for each slide in that ppt/pptx
• if there’s no Identifier on it (a fixed labeled text box – say “MIGID” - with an ID somewhere on the note page)
o increase ID
o add a textbox – preferably top or bottom left - with the new ID as content
• endif
 endfor // slide
o endfor // ppt
- endfor // subfolder
- stores new IDn° // best an easy accesible location, so manual correction is easy. just in case ...

This is relaed to the suggestion to allow a "link/unlink" fuctionality I've send to you from within SE

A new version of Slide Executive Professional has been released. Along with the new version comes the launch of Slide Executive Small Business Edition (SBE).

The new edition contains all the features that the Professional version has with a few limitations. It come with a package of 30 users and a SQL Server Express 2005 database. The SBE edition must be upgraded to a Professional version in order to run more than 30 users.

For more information about the new features in version 2.2, please contact info(AT)slideexecutive.com

1. Yes, Slide Executive desktop will update the virtual slides in the virtual presentation when the source slides change.

2. All virtual presentations are stored in a single database under the users profile, they are not stored as separate physical files in the file system.

Hi,

1.
I am wondering if slide updates in the master=source ppts, will automatically lead to an updated virtual presentation in case they use/link-in a specific updated slide
Context : We want to create different training packages, using the available material in several detailed technical ppts ; but we don't want to maintain hundreds of different derived ppts. It would be nice if we could just update the technical source ppt & SlideExecutive would autom update the virtual presentation (updating/refreshing his links) ...

2. Where does (& with what extension/suffix) does SlideExecutive store his virtual presentations ?
I created one called test1, but can not find any file (not in the SlideExecutive folder, not in docs & settings etc ...) with name test1 I am mainly looking for the real virtual presentation = the file with the links to the sources, not the exported hardcoded ppt

thx in advance

kind regards
jc

topic: Moving Files between libraries

This is easily done by draging and dropping, either folders or presentations from "My library" to the "Public Library". In version 2.2 you can also use the cut and paste functionality.

Another option is to create a virtual presentation that derives from your private presentation in My Library. That way you will have complete control over the source presentation while deciding who and what the users can see in the public section.

How do I move a file from "My Library" to the "Public Library"? I imported several files and I want to share them with others.

The answer used to be no but since we introduced the duplicate slide functionality we have made it possible to update duplicate slides in multiple source presentations. Other than that, Slide Executive will not alter any presentations.

Your personal data is used for order processing and is required to successfully complete your order. The entire order process is protected via a secure SSL connection. None of the information provided during the purchasing process will be shared with any third parties.

All of the data entered on the purchasing pages is encrypted using the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol and transmitted to the recipient via a secure connection. The data can only be read once it is received. In this way, important information such as credit card numbers, addresses, etc. can be sent to the recipient securely via the Internet. In Netscape, you can tell that SSL is activated if you see a closed padlock in the lower left corner of the browser window. In Internet Explorer, the padlock icon is located at the lower right in the status bar of the browser window.

All online shoppers who nonetheless feel uncomfortable using their credit cards online can choose to pay by invoice when placing orders.

topic: Why do I need to register?

admin

There are several reasons why we require our customers to register. The first reason is that we are required to do so by law. Each invoice must be connected to a company or person. The second reason is that our product activation model requires us to know who you are in order to activate the product. We also need to know who you are in order to provide you with support. Please review our privacy notice if you feel unsure.
